I feel like a rider again.
It may have something to do with the sun peeking out from the clouds and it not raining.
I did a mediocre tempo loop today with my pal Anderson. It was a crisp morning. The routine of getting up at seven, getting the gear together and putting miles in felt good.
I used embrocation. Qoleum hot.
I also tried something different. Rubbed some cayenne on my fingers. Did not help keep them warm.
My pal Dan Action taught me how to make chocolate peanut butter cayenne balls to take on long rides. I should go stock up on the essentials again so I can keep warm on these cold spring mornings.
The Veloshop is busy as hell! The mechanics are bustling and I am staring at paperwork.
Been staying late most nights. I counter that by leaving early at least once or twice a week to get home and relax a little bit. Once this whole bicycle training thing gets back in full swing, I cannot stay on top of the dishes and the laundry and keeping the bed made.
I also installed a prototype Edge fork onto my Vanilla winter trainer. 465 grams with the steerer plug installed! Monocoque (sp?) one piece of carbon fibre from fork tip thru steerer. Amazing.
I’ve been ruminating on how excessive it is to have 2 race bikes and another training bike… maybe I’ll get around to selling my beat up Vanilla cx machine this summer.
Speaking of selling shit, I have a couple pairs of King scandium tubular wheels and a grip of FMB tyres I am looking to sell.
No, I am not over the FMB tyres. But it is PRO to use a tyre once and them sell them to your needy buddies in the off season. No?
Plus I have taxes to pay.
